Kershaw - The Spline

A spline is a numeric function that can define a curve. And Kershaw’s Spline, designed by Les George, is a knife with plenty of curves.

The first curve you’ll notice is the heavy curve of the blade spine. Essentially, the blade is a modified Wharncliffe version of Les’ Mini Harpy, but slimmed down all over to make it a lightweight carry. Les added a top swedge to thin the blade and lowered the tip to enhance its cutting power. The Spline offers a great all-around edge profile with exceptional push-cutting capability.

8Cr13MoV blade steel ensures the Spline’s blade takes and holds its edge, while Kershaw’s BlackWash finish gives it a matte finish and helps hide use scratches—because you are going to use it.

The Spline’s handle is steel, also finished in BlackWash, with curves that fit into your palm and give your index finger a secure curve to lock into while you work. The all-steel handles mean that the Spline also gives you a strong frame lock.

For quick and easy one-handed opening, just pull back on the flipper and the Spline opens with Kershaw’s SpeedSafe assisted opening. The pocketclip is left/right reversible and there’s a handy lanyard hole.

Zero Tolerance 0900

So which folder will it be today? Easy call. This one. Designed by custom knifemaker Les George and premium-built by Zero Tolerance. The 0900 is compact and powerful. With a shorter—but wider—blade of less than 3 inches, it’s a convenient size to take along almost anywhere.

Premium Crucible S35VN stainless makes this smaller blade tough and chip resistant and enables us to sharpen it to a razor edge. S35VN ensures easier re-sharpening, too. Titanium handles make the new 0900 exceptionally handsome, while Zero Tolerance’s KVT ball-bearing system makes it exceptionally fast and easy to open. There are no springs involved—just pure, beautiful blade precision. The 0900 also features a secure titanium frame lock with hardened steel lockbar insert and a reversible, deep-carry clip.

Like many other Zero Tolerance design partners, Les George has a wealth of practical lifetime experience that has helped shape his approach to knives and knifemaking. From his years as a US Marine to his service as a Senior Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician, George has seen how tools are used in the real world and he designs his knives to suit those needs. Zero Tolerance is proud to partner with Les George to bring you the compact precision of the 0900, built in the USA by Zero Tolerance.

Zero Tolerance 0920

Based on the Harpy, the 0920's design is practical, functional, and extremely clean.

The blade is CPM 20 CV stainless steel with a stonewashed finish. This powdered metallurgy steel is considered one of the “super steels” for its top performance, offering outstanding edge holding capability and corrosion resistance. The blade has a scooped spine, top swedge, and a slight recurve for cutting versatility.

The knife opens with ZT’s KVT ball-bearing opening system for quick and easy manual opening with the built-in flipper. A titanium frame lock with hardened steel lockbar insert secures the blade open during use.

The titanium handle is fully 3D machined so that it fits and fills the hand comfortably and smoothly. Machined texturing adds grip and the bead-blasted finish contrasts handsomely with the stonewashed blade. To help ensure this big folder is easy to carry, the insides of the handles are machined with weight-relieving pockets. ZT adds a touch of subtle color with the bronze-anodized aluminum tube spacers and bronze-anodized bent titanium pocketclip, and a touch of class with the oversized pivot. Black-oxide hardware completes the 0920’s understated, yet aggressive look.

Spartan Blades - V14 Dagger

The Spartan-George V-14 Dagger is Spartan Blades first collaboration with knife maker Les George. Daggers have come to symbolize the elite of our military special operations units and intelligence agencies, since the forming of the OSS. We wanted to take a classic profile and improve it with better materials and thoughtful design. A full-tang design along with the 0.25 inch precision ground thickness makes for a very reliable blade. After hollow grinding 4 very symmetrical bevels, each blade is vacuum heat treated, double deep cryogenically treated and double tempered to add to edge retention and toughness, thus curing a problem that has plagued past military daggers. The ergonomic and textured handle is specifically designed with comfort and confident grip. The handle is a divergence from tradition as it is oblong with flats on each side to assist in the indexing / use of the knife during hours of limited visibility. This is a real combat dagger!

Zero Tolerance 0909

Zero Tolerance and Les George have teamed up once again to create the new 0909. Les went back to his roots in designing the 0909, basing it on his popular Talos, which, in turn, was a production version of Les’ first custom knife, the FM-1.

The 0909's deeply rounded index finger contour, machined curves at mid-handle, and deep arc leading to the blade tip all combine to give the 0909 its distinctive look. This heavy-duty powerhouse features premium materials like S35VN blade steel, G-10 handle scales, and extra-thick liners. The blade is nearly four-inches of S35VN stainless steel that’s strong, wear resistant, corrosion resistant, and tough. This high-end steel ensures the user of a sharp, reliable edge that will last a long time.

The handle is built of machined G-10, contoured for sure grip. Strong, lightweight, and resistant to temperature changes, this material makes an ideal knife handle. To back the G-10 scales, ZT added extra-thick liners—like the ones found in our classic 0350 series. The beefy liners make the 0909 extremely stable and rigid, as well as providing a secure liner lock that holds the blade safely open during use. Finally, a reversible, deep-carry pocketclip allows the knife to ride comfortably low in the pocket for convenient everyday carry.

Kershaw - Pico

Sometimes you can tell that a tool is going to be useful just by looking at it. This is one of those times.

Like all the knives designed by custom knifemaker Les George, the Pico benefits from Les’ practical approach to knifemaking, informed by his years as a custom knifemaker as well as his stint in the US Marines. The result is a knife that’s designed to be used in the real world of work and every day tasks.

The Pico’s 8Cr13MoV blade steel, precision heat-treated by Kershaw, is strong, hard, and takes and holds an edge well. It opens quickly and easily with a flipper and Kershaw’s SpeedSafe assisted opening. The handle is pure steel, bead-blasted to a matte finish. A frame lock ensures solid blade lock up during use and closes easily when you’re ready to return it to your pocket.

While the Pico isn’t a fussy knife, it does have some touches that take it out of the ordinary. For instance, the blade features two different finishes: satin on the flats and stonewashed on the grinds. And the pivot is oversized and polished to stand out against the soft grey of the handle steel. A deep-carry, left/right reversible pocketclip ensures carrying convenience.

Kershaw - Westin

Designed by Les George, the Westin’s long, lean lines make it a good-looking carry, while its does-it-all drop-point blade makes it convenient for most any cutting task.

Inspired by the character Michael Westin on the USA Network’s Burn Notice, the Westin is a larger knife and features a 3.5-inch blade. And while that blade has a symmetrical profile, it has an asymmetrical blade grind. The top grind slims the blade, looks Michael Westin-chill, and emphasizes the point. It also makes a lot of blade very easy to carry. 8Cr13MoV steel ensures this blade takes and holds its edge. The stonewashed blade finish looks good and helps hide use scratches.

The Westin features SpeedSafe assisted opening for simple, smooth, one-handed opening. To enhance its streamlined look, the Westin doesn’t have a thumb stud just pull back on the flipper and it’s ready to go to work. An oversized decorative pivot just adds to this EDC’s sleek good looks.

The handle is contoured to fit the hand for a secure grip. A textured glass-filled nylon front handle scale enhances grip even more. The steel back, with stonewashed finish, features a secure frame lock to ensure safe blade lock up during use. The Westin’s pocketclip is left/right reversible for convenient pocket carry, too.

Kershaw - Valmara

The sturdy Valmara benefits from designer Les George’s 22 years as a custom knifemaker, his US Marine background, and his solid understanding of how tools are used in the real world. Even better? Les named it for an Italian bounding fragmentation landmine. The drop-point blade has a slight recurve for excellent slicing and multi-tasking capabilities. A top swedge thins the blade at the point, improving piercing. 8Cr13MoV blade steel ensures this blade takes and holds its sharp edge. The stonewashed finish looks good, hides scratches. You’ll get a good hold on the handle thanks to its full contouring and heavy “S” surface texture. The knife is fast and easy to open with SpeedSafe assisted opening and the built-in flipper. Boom and the Valmara is ready to rock. A sturdy liner lock secures the blade while you’re working. The Valmara is also equipped with a pre-drilled lanyard hole and a left/right reversible pocketclip. You will appreciate how this solid, larger knife feels in your hand and how it takes on just about any task you’ve got in mind.
